As SVP of Video Technology at AppNexus, leads the company’s video strategic development, engineering, and product efforts. He has more than twenty five years of experience developing online video, mobile, and digital media products at Apple Inc., Spotify, JW Player, AT&T Bell Labs and new ventures. At JW Player Eric was CTO and EVP of Product leading engineering and product for the most popular video player on the web after Google and Facebook, with one billion unique video viewers. At Spotify, Eric was the founding member of the video team and served as Video Architect for the leading streaming music service in the world. At Apple Inc. he co-founded the QuickTime software project, led development of the first real-time software video compression algorithm running on the QuickTime multimediastandard, and managed the Multimedia Communications Group. Prior to Apple, Eric was a Research Scientist at AT&T Bell Laboratories. The patented QuickTime technology he developed has been downloaded more than a billion times. While at Apple, Eric received the CEO Technical Award for the development of QuickTime software. Eric has also worked as a digital video consultant for Disney, SONY,Viacom, VICE Media, TiVo, Stanford, and Carnegie-Mellon. Eric has publishedmultiple papers and holds 26 patents with 17 patents pending.
