Gabriel Weintraub joins AppNexus’ Data Science team as Chief Economist. In this role, he enjoys a broad mandate to drive new efficiencies in AppNexus’ auction and pricing structures and to formulate marketplace practices that strengthen the mutuality of interest between buyers and sellers on the company’s unified, end-to-end platform. Prior to being appointed Chief Economist, Gabriel served AppNexus as a market design consultant since August of 2015. Gabriel continues to serve as Associate Professor of Business at Columbia Business School, where he teaches MBA and PhD courses in operations, business analytics, game theory, and online markets. His research focuses on the economics and optimization of marketplaces. Gabriel holds a Ph.D. in Management Science and Engineering and a M.A. in Economics, both from Stanford University, and an Industrial Engineering Degree from the University of Chile.
