Mark McClusky

Head of Product and Business Development, WIRED

Mark McClusky is the head of product and business development at WIRED, where he directs the brand’s technology, product, and audience development teams. Before taking on this role in January 2015, he served as editor of WIRED.com for two years, leading the site to record traffic and readership numbers. Since joining WIRED in 2005, McClusky has also served as special projects editor, where he led the magazine’s editorial efforts on new platforms; senior editor for products, directing all gear and gadget coverage; founding editor of Playbook, WIRED’s sports technology blog; and managing editor of WIRED.com. Prior to joining WIRED, McClusky was an editor at Mobile PC magazine, editor in chief of EA.com, and a reporter and editor at Sports Illustrated and SI for Kids magazines. He is the author of the New York Times Best-Selling book Faster, Higher, Stronger: How Sports Science Is Creating a New Generation of Superathletes—and What We Can Learn From Them. He has a bachelors of arts degree from Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, and he lives in Oakland with his wife and two children.
